Choosing a deadline

Although our final admissions criteria are consistent at all four deadlines, there are advantages to applying before the final deadline:

  • You are more likely to get assigned to a region you highly prefer
  • You may be more likely to advance to the final interview stage (because we have more interviewer resources available per applicant at our lower volume deadlines)
  • If you apply for transitional funding, you are guaranteed an award if you complete an application by the date of your final interview
  • If accepted, you have more time to prepare for the transition, which can include planning for a move, passing required tests, and completing pre-service reading and classroom observations

That said, it is most important that you consider which timeline works best for you. Please consider the dates scheduled for the phone interview and final interview to ensure that you will be available for the required interview dates for the deadline you select.
