Finding affordable housing in Hawai‘i can be a challenge. Many corps members have found affordable housing in Makakilo, Kapolei, and Maili. Many share three or four bedroom houses in these areas. They have found new subdivisions with swimming pools and other amenities. About 90% of corps members live with other corps members. These areas are relatively close to the areas in which they teach. However, they are a considerable distance from Honolulu and you can expect lengthy travel times during peak traffic hours.
