Why did you choose Jacksonville?

Jacksonville is the place that I care about the most. It’s home for me and I view it as “the destination of the future." I see Jacksonville as a place of promise and I am proud to see the development taking place right now. I couldn’t imagine leaving Jacksonville and missing the opportunity to be a part of this charter movement.

How do you plan on contributing to closing the achievement gap in Jacksonville?

I plan on contributing to closing the achievement gap by making this a life-long mission. It is important to acknowledge that my classroom experience, while being the most critical part of my journey, is only the first step. I will help my students realize their potential. They will be promising leaders in the Jacksonville community and I want to unleash that potential. This will help close the achievement gap because I envision that my students will not only have a changed life, but will be equipped and prepared to change a life, creating an unstoppable cycle of achievement and progress. The youth are the key to a future of equality and opportunity.
